ABOUT ABU
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) brings together broadcasters from television and radio networks to digital media organisations across one of the most diverse and rapidly evolving regions in the world. At its core lies a defining principle, Unity in Diversity — a commitment to bringing together nations, cultures, languages, and perspectives, and transforming that diversity into a shared regional strength.
Established in 1964, the ABU is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing broadcasting and media cooperation across the Asia-Pacific. Today, it connects around 224 organisations across 66 countries, reaching audiences across half the globe. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the ABU serves as a central platform where members share content, exchange ideas, and collectively navigate the challenges shaping the future of media.
