OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

The Office of the Secretary-General serves as the central coordinating body of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), overseeing the Union’s strategic direction, operations, and regional engagement. It works closely with member organisations, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure the ABU continues to strengthen collaboration, drive innovation, and respond to the evolving needs of the broadcasting industry across the Asia-Pacific. 

The office also plays a key role in supporting the Union’s initiatives, governance, communications, and cross-departmental coordination, ensuring that the ABU operates effectively as a united and forward-looking organisation. 

The Office of the Secretary-General is headed by Ms Nargiza Numanova, Head of the Secretary-General’s Office, who oversees the office’s operations and supports the implementation of the Union’s strategic priorities and initiatives. She is assisted by Nur Shahida, Team Assistant, who supports the coordination and administrative functions of the office.
