The Technology Department sits at the forefront of transformation, helping broadcasters navigate the rapid evolution of media and technology. From artificial intelligence to digital broadcasting and emerging platforms, it equips members with the tools, knowledge, and insights needed to stay competitive in a changing landscape.

A cornerstone of its work is the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS), the Union’s flagship technology event. DBS brings together global industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to explore the trends shaping the future of broadcasting, from AI-driven content to next-generation distribution.

Through technical forums, training programmes, and industry collaborations, the department creates a space for members to exchange ideas, adopt new technologies, and move the industry forward.
