The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is set to welcome broadcasters, content creators, media professionals and industry leaders from across the region for ABU CON-FEST 2026, taking place from 7–9 July 2026 at Royale Chulan Damansara, Malaysia.
Held under the theme “Next-Gen Content & Culture,” this year’s festival will explore the evolving landscape of content creation, digital storytelling and audience engagement in an era shaped by rapid technological advancement and changing consumer behaviour.
The festival will officially open with a Ministerial Address by Yang Berhormat Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia’s Minister of Communications.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to hear from leading media practitioners, broadcasters and digital innovators through sessions addressing some of the industry’s most pressing issues. Among them, “Trusted Media in Times of Crisis” will examine the essential role of media during emergencies, natural disasters and public crises, while the ABU–UNESCO Disaster Preparedness and Response Programme (DPRP) Model for Media will highlight how broadcasters can strengthen disaster preparedness, public awareness and community resilience.
ABU CON-FEST 2026 will aim to inspire new ideas, encourage innovation and equip participants with the knowledge and connections needed to shape the future of content across the Asia-Pacific region.
