Ahmet Görmez

ABU News Group Chair
Ahmet Görmez, born in Ankara in 1981, is an accomplished journalist with 24 years of experience in international reporting and diplomacy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Radio, TV, and Cinema from Ankara University and a master’s degree in international journalism from City University London. Ahmet has worked with numerous prominent media organizations including TRT, CNN Türk, and ATV, covering high-stakes conflict zones such as Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and Gaza.

He has also served as a Press Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Proficient in English and familiar with Bosnian, Serbian, and Croatian, Ahmet’s expertise spans the Balkans, defense, and aviation sectors. His work has earned him multiple prestigious awards, including several from the Turkish News Cameramen Association and the TV journalist of the year from Alanya Journalist Association. Currently, he is the Deputy Director General at TRT Türkiye – where he continues to deliver impactful journalism. at TRT Türkiye. Prior, he had served as the News Coordinator at TRT Haber. He is also a visiting scholar at Ankara University Faculty of Communication where he teaches “Diplomatic Journalism” for the last five years.

Nesryn Bouziane

ABU News Group Vice-chair
Nesryn Bouziane is Lead of the International Broadcast and Digital Services strategy at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). She is also a member of the Executive Committee at the Association for International Broadcasting and previously worked for BBC Media Action as Senior Programme Manager in the Middle East and Europe.
Inoue became NHK’s Executive Board member and was appointed Senior Director in 2014, which involved him in the drawing up of NHK’s mid-term corporate plans.

Inoue served as President & CEO of two technical affiliates, NHKI-Tech and Broadcasting Satellite System (B-SAT) for a six-year period from 2016, providing support for broadcasting technologies and Japan’s satellite broadcasting infrastructure.

In February 2023, Inoue was appointed Executive Vice President of NHK in recognition of his wide-ranging professional expertise, extensive ties with people both inside and outside of NHK, and vast managerial experience. On December 10, 2025, NHK announced Inoue’s appointment as its next president. His three-year term began on January 25.

Fumitaka Sato

Ms. Zhou Jihong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Tsinghua University. Since joining the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) in August 1989, she has developed extensive expertise in international communication across radio, television, and audio-visual media.

In 2014, Ms. Zhou was appointed Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Department within the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT, now NRTA), where she contributed significantly to China’s international media engagement. From 2019 to 2021, she served as Deputy Director-General of NRTA’s Television Drama Department, directing the development of television dramas. In September 2023, Ms. Zhou was appointed Director-General of NRTA’s International Cooperation Department, leading China’s international exchanges and collaborations within the audio-visual industry to strengthen cultural ties worldwide. Ms. Zhou has also led ministry-level social science research projects, such as The Role of Government in International Communication and Trends, Challenges, and Recommendations for International Communication in New Media. On October 23, 2024, Ms. Zhou Jihong was elected Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) during its 61st General Assembly.

Prasad Dodangodage

Prasad Kaushalya Dodangodage is the Senior Editor of Asiavision and assumed duties in December 2025. Prior to this, he was a senior journalist and a news executive at SLRC Sri Lanka. Together with the AVN team, he will work to develop and maintain the editorial quality of the Asiavision news exchange with a view to providing an updated and diverse news flow to AVN members.
He broadened his international perspective while serving as the London Correspondent from 2011 to 2014, further enhancing his journalistic insight and global outlook. Mr. Park’s leadership extends beyond journalism, with senior management roles at KBS. He has served as Director Manager of the Secretariat to President and CEO and as Director of the Social Affairs and Current Affairs departments. In these roles, he played a critical part in crafting strategic direction, fostering innovation in programming, and maintaining the organization’s reputation for journalistic excellence. Premalatha Jayaraman

Premalatha joined the ABU in November 2017 after more than 16 years as a print and news agency journalist in Malaysia, at Kumpulan Karangkraf, Bernama, The Sun newspaper and ASEAN Post. She specialised in finance and business writing with a focus on financial and commodity markets, macroeconomics and trading. She has a degree in communications from the Open University Malaysia and a diploma in broadcasting from the Malaysia Institute of Integrative Media.

Amira Ismail

Asiavision News Producer
Amira joined the ABU in November 2024. She brings over nine years of experience in media and communications and specialises in news and video production. Her previous role was as Malay language content lead at Free Malaysia Today (FMT) – an independent news portal and one of Malaysia’s most popular news sites. Amira holds a MA in Information and Media and Warfare Studies, a bachelor’s degree in mass communication majoring in Public Relations, as well as a Diploma in Computer Sciences (Universiti Teknologi MARA).

Nerina Rosli

Nerina joined the ABU in September 2022 as a Team Assistant in ABU’s Technical Department. She was a lecturer in Manipal International University who taught mass media writing and human communications to diploma students. She graduated with a Bachelor of Mass Communication with a Journalism major (Universiti Teknologi MARA) and MA in International Relations (University of Nottingham). She holds a diploma in French language studies (DELF) B1.

Yanjiang was from CCTV where he was Senior Producer of the CCTV sports channel. He graduated from the China Central Academy of Drama with a Masters degree in Film and Television theory. Yanjiang joined the ABU in July 2012.

Aoki Kazunori

Aoki Kazunori is a Japanese national and started his career with Japanese public broadcaster, NHK in 2000. He has mainly directed and produced entertainment programmes for the last 25 years. Since the “Great East Japan Earthquake” in 2011, he has also produced a number of reports and documentaries related to the disaster.

Dr Veysel Binbay

Veysel Binbay is a Turkish National and has been working in Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) since 1998. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Gazi University, Turkey), MSc (Graduate Degree, Dicle University, Turkey) and PHd (Doctorate degree, Dicle University, Turkey). He is experienced in the design, setup, and operation of analogue/hybrid/digital radio and TV broadcast systems; he also has experience in developing software.
