Members invited to share Innovations in News
All ABU members are invited to contribute to the next ABU News report called Innovations in News.
Like The Future of News report this year, it will be published as a book and available online. Each author or organisation is invited to select their own topic. A photo and profile of each author will be published alongside the essay, project summary or list.
Possible topics include:

Generative AI in the newsrooms

Media literacy projects to counter disinformation

Winning audiences in the digital age

Targeting audiences under 27

Journalist safety
-
Improving the quality of reporting on a particular topic eg climate change

Journalist education

Innovations in solutions journalism

Innovation in journalist recruitment

Building audience engagement through community activities
-
Cultural and/or operational changes in the workplace
The deadline for submissions is 14 March 2025 and the maximum word count is 1000 words. Submissions and any questions about the report should be sent to the ABU’s Director of News, Deborah Steele, at deborah@abu.org.my.
