MCOT & Thai PBS win October Asiavision Award

MCOT and Thai PBS have won the October Asiavision Award for their coverage of a school bus fire which claimed the lives of 23 people, including 20 young children.

Their coverage of the tragic event was the most downloaded content on Asiavision in October, highlighting the interest and concern across the Asia-Pacific region.

MCOT and Thai PBS uploaded nine stories on the incident, resulting in 49 downloads by AVN members. They included CNA Singapore, MRTV Myanmar, RTB Brunei, TDM Macau, TRT Türkiye, TV5 Mongolia, TVB Hong Kong, TVRI Indonesia, VTV Vietnam, PSM Maldives and ABS-CBN Philippines, as well as Eurovision (EBU).

The coverage by MCOT and Thai PBS allowed viewers to understand the scale of the tragedy and its impact on the community.
