Journalism workshop features newsroom tools
A visit to the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat and a media conference on the International Court of Justice hearings on climate change were two highlights of a journalism workshop for Pacific members, held on 10-11 February to coincide with the Pacific Media Partnership Conference in Suva.
The 1.5 day workshop featured newsroom tools and briefings on how to use them. It was led by BenarNews/RFA’s Stefan Armbruster and the ABU’s Director of News, Deborah Steele.
The tools discussed included CapCut, Canva, resources for science news and Digital Earth Pacific.
The workshop included presentations by the SPC Pacific Community development organisation, the New Zealand Science Media Centre, Starlink and PhD students in marine science. The media conference on the International Court of Justice hearings on climate change was with Vishal Prasad, Director Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change, and SPC human rights advisor Johanna Gusman.
