ABU supports TVRI World staff retreat

An ABU webinar on newsroom management was part of a two-day TVRI World staff retreat which combined staff meetings with training, coaching and outbound activities.

The webinar by ABU Director of News, Deborah Steele, was requested by TVRI to help extend the capacity of the TVRI World team.

It discussed ways to access performance against TVRI World’s strategic objectives, newsroom and program priorities, the allocation of resources, audience behaviour, ways to improve audience engagement, the importance of teamwork and the responsibility of each staff member to contribute to TVRI World’s future success.

The TVRI World retreat was held in Bogor, south of Jakarta, on 29-30 November.  It was opened by TVRI’s President Director, Iman Brotoseno, and other speakers included a political expert and an official from Indonesia’s foreign ministry.

“TVRI World regularly provides training and team building exercises and it was a pleasure to contribute to this event,” said Deborah. “Their staff are always enthusiastic and keen to learn. The focus this time was to support TVRI World to take the next step, building on their success since launching in 2021.”
