ABU Sports serve members in terms of media content acquisition, production and transmission. With a mandate to support growth and development of sports media in Asia and Pacific, ABU Sports help manage media rights, facilitate on-site production and coverage for, and on behalf of members. ABU Sports Media Conference (SMC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a highly sought-after annual event among sports and media industry. ABU Sports & Entertainment Network (ASEN) encourage and facilitate sharing, and the exchange free sports related content between and among members.

ABU SPORTS GROUP

ABU Sports Group is open to members across Asia and Pacific involved, and interested in Sports media and broadcasting. Members, mostly sports channels, meet twice a year during the mid-year Sports Media Conference (SMC), and on the side-lines of ABU General Assembly towards the end of the year. The group conference provides overall strategic direction and guidance, and endorses ABU sports planned activities and ensure sustainability.

The Sports group is headed by a chairperson elected from among its members. The Chairperson is assisted by eleven-member committee, an advisory body, which meets twice a year. The committee deliberate on ABU Sports planned events, activities and financial matters among others. The report and the recommendation of the committee is reported to the conference for endorsement. The Chairperson and the committee are supported by the Sports Director at the secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
