ABU-ASBU renew MoU strengthening news exchange

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) have once again signed a continuation of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between their respective news exchange platforms – Asiavision (AVN) and ASBUVISION.

The signing was done by ABU Secretary General, Ahmed Nadeem, and his ASBU counterpart, Abdelrahim Suleiman, in Tunis, Tunisia.

Under the agreement, AVN members will continue to gain free access to news content produced by broadcasters across the Arab States region. Likewise, ASBUVISION members will be able to access AVN’s news content from the Asia-Pacific region.

Through this collaboration, AVN members will be able to expand their international coverage with firsthand footage and reports from the Arab States region, while offering their own region’s perspectives to ASBUVISION.

Recently, Asiavision users have gained access to footage from Gaza, which was provided by ASBU correspondents with dramatic footage and behind-the-scenes stories that have not been accessible to foreign media.

The MoU takes effect immediately and is exclusive to AVN and ASBUVISION members and partners.
