62nd ABU Sports Group Conference
About This Event
The 62nd ABU Sports Group Conference and Associated Meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia ended on a high note. The conference (May 7 – 9, 2018) was described by members and delegates as not only fruitful and informative, but timely and relevant, with the 18th Asian Games only a few months away.
The conference saw over fifty delegates, majority of them sports broadcasters and relevant partners representing the industry. Delegates heard renewed calls for engagement and involvement with the ABU Sports. It was revealed that acquiring rights to premium sports and sporting events, such as the Asian Games still remain a major challenge.
The conference featured a comprehensive presentation on the up-coming Asian Games by the Broadcast Director of the up-coming Asian Games Organising Committee, INASGOC. The 18th Asian Games Jakarta Palembang 2018, the largest and most prestigious multi-sporting event in Asia will take place from August 18 – September 2, 2018
