Powering Content That Connects
ABU Programming is at the heart of content exchange within the ABU, enabling members to share stories that inform, inspire, and resonate across borders while facilitating the distribution of television, radio, and digital content to amplify diverse voices across the Asia-Pacific on a regional and global scale. Through a wide range of services, from programme exchange and co-production to festivals, industry conferences, and in-country capacity building workshops, the department supports content creators and drives the continuous development of talent across the region.
Central to this are key platforms such as ABU SoundWorks, which enables members to share and access free music and sound effects for their productions, the Documentary Exchange, which enables the sharing of compelling long-form video and audio storytelling. Together, these platforms give members access to a rich pool of content, strengthening collaboration and expanding the reach of stories that matter.
The ABU Content Festival (ConFest), the department’s flagship event, brings together content creators, broadcasters, and industry leaders to celebrate creativity, foster collaboration, and explore trends shaping the future of storytelling. Complementing this, the ABU Prizes recognise excellence in radio, television, and digital content, setting benchmarks for quality, raising educational and cultural standards, and inspiring innovation across the industry.
Through its initiatives and flagship programmes, the ABU Programming ensures that great content travels further, stronger collaborations are built, and the stories that matter continue to connect communities across the region.
